I have a Dell Inspiron E1700 two. GHz Intel Twin Core processor with one GB of ram and a 7200 rpm hard push and I just set up Business office 2007 on it. All the plans seem to operate a little slow, but Excel is ridiculous! I can barely get anything completed. If I attempt to make the contents of a cell daring, I have to wait about thirty seconds from the time that I hit the daring essential to the time that it really turns bold. Exact same with underlining, inserting rows/columns, copying, pasting. I reinstalled it as soon as currently to see if that fixed it, but it failed to. Is any individual else obtaining this problem or does anybody know how to velocity it up?

Excel 2007 runs at minimum as quick as Excel 2003 on my Computer. In truth, it calculates much more swiftly since it makes use of the two cores of my CPU, which Excel 2003 does not. Other Office 2007 packages are just as speedy.

You didn’t say if you are using Vista or Windows XP. If Vista, then you really should undoubtedly create an additional GB of RAM. It wouldn’t injure on XP both. I am not positive that is the trigger of your troubles, but it could be. I’ve acquired a laptop computer with a much older (and single core) processor jogging XP and Office 2007. The variation is that I have 2 GB of RAM.

I’m running an HP laptop with Excel 2007 running on Windows Vista and mine runs perfectly fine. It sounds like you have enough computer power to run the program well, what I’m wondering is if you have a ton of other programs running in the background that you don’t know about. You probably need to eliminate some programs off of your start up menu.

How long have you had your PC? The longer you’ve had it the more likely other programs running unaware in the background is the cause. You might also want to get a spyware detection program. Spyware programs add up with each one and slow down your computer.

Next time you get a new computer, write down the programs on the start menu. Then go back later and compare your current list with what was originally on there and eliminate pretty much everything off the list that wasn’t on the original list.
