I don’t have a good answer to Adobe, but I don’t use Adobe any more because it’s too expensive, too slow and too big. There is an excellent small program called Foxit, that consists of a reader, an editor and creator. combined they are a LOT less than Adobe and just as good. Check it out before you decide whether to spend the big bucks for Adobe.

You can mail any PDF form, but the person you are mailing it to has to have a PDF editor to be able to fill in the forms.
Oh, and by the way, you cannot use OpenOffice to edit PDF forms. OpenOffice is strictly an office suite, not a PDF editor.
adobe acrobat reader is free and can be found on their website. to create it there is a ton of free software you can download that can do it. for them to be able to type on it, it depends mostly on their program to read pdf’s
