In 2002 I bought a cheap “sequencer” and messed around with it a bit. I loved making music with it, but it was very limited in what it could do, and so was my computer. What hardware/software do I need to start making good sounding music I can call my own? I even bought a cheap Yamaha keyboard from bestbuy but never used it b/c my computer had no midi input, not to mention I didnt have much money to invest in all of this, however now I can probably handle it. I gave my bro the keyboard, should I get it back? Like I know I need a sequencer, and I guess a soundcard with midi input? Anyways, so what do I need? and if you have suggestions of certain programs/hardware please guide me! Thanks

Check out Acid Music 3.0. It’s a wave file mixing program. Then search online for free files.

You need to wake up and smell the coffee, techno died a slow and painful death somewhere around 1997-1999

A keyboard sequencer is great but not nessisary!Your computer will do just fine,Cake walk pro is a great midi sequencer.Lol I first started sequencing midi files when all we had was an old Atari.Musicians loved it because it had a midi interface built in.on that I used cake walk,it installed from a floppy disk and Dr. T was great as you could really tweak each note, velocity etc.
